BRIGHTWAY, HANJIN Heavy Industries and Construction (HHIC)’s 160,000T crude oil tanker which was built and handed over in 2012, has
been named ‘Ship of the Year’ by the Naval Architects in the United Kingdom, which is one of the world’s
top three shipbuilding & shipping journals.


The 160,000T crude oil tanker ‘BRIGHTWAY’ owned by Tanker Pacific in Singapore is the latest double-hull ship (274m in length, 48m in width,
23.5m in depth) which can travel up to 15.7 knots. In terms of size, it is Suezmax which can transit the Suez Canal.


HHIC is honored to receive ‘Ship of the Year’ in a shipbuilding sector for 21 consecutive years since 1992 based on 75-year knowhow, advanced
technology and professional competence. The Korean shipbuilder unveiled its ambitious plan to evolve into the world’s leading shipbuilding
company through continued R&D and technology innovation.
