On April 26, HHIC held a topping-out ceremony for a second passenger terminal at Incheon International Airport.

About 1,000 celebrities including Kang Ho-in (Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport), Chung Il-young (CEO of Incheon International Airport Corporation) and Lee Man-young (Co-Rep Director of HHIC) attended the event and celebrated the completion of a frame work for the second passenger terminal of Incheon International Airport. At the same time, they had a session of praying for the successful completion of the project by the end of 2017. At present, 57 percent of the second passenger terminal construction project is completed. The exterior finish & framing work constructed by HHIC Consortium is actually at the final stage. In addition, HHIC builds the overpass of the frontage roads.

The Incheon International Airport 3rd phase project refers to the large-scale expansion of airport infrastructure including transportation center and access roads as well as the 2nd passenger terminal. Once the 3rd phase project is completed, Incheon International Airport will be able to handle 18 million passengers per year additionally and increase its cargo handling capacity from 4.5 to 5.8 million tons. After all, the world’s renowned airport would further be able to upgrade its competitiveness. Having the beauty of Korean tradition, in particular, the 2nd passenger terminal has been greatly praised. Therefore, it appears that it would become more valuable as a new landmark of the Republic of Korea.

An official from the HHIC said, “We are very proud of what we have done as the constructor of the phases I, II and III of the Incheon International Airport improvement project.” He added, “We are going to wrap up this work with sincerity not to stain the reputation and sully the image of Inchon International Airport.”
