HHIC develops environment-friendly dust collection & ventilation technology

HHIC has developed a dust collection & ventilation system which can collect fine dust produced during shipbuilding. As a result, the working environment has been greatly improved.

In general, a large amount of fine dust (10㎛ or smaller) is produced during preprocessing for painting. There are many harmful substances in the dust such as dusty gas and paint.

This new dust collection system developed by the HHIC R&D Center consists of a primary filter which filters oily dusts
such as paint and a secondary filter that collects fine dust by applying a dust collection function to the large turbo ventilation fan.

In particular, this small and light system is easy to move and install and even capable of collecting micro dust (10㎛ or smaller).

In consideration of the shipbuilding environment, this dust collection system has adopted a dust-collection function
which minimizes the decrease in the volume of ventilation and the materials and structure which can maximize the filter lifespan and used bypass discharge ports to keep ventilation performance high.

With this new system, HHIC has been able to create a refreshing work environment by reducing dust concentration
up to the level lower than the allowable limit by Occupational and Environmental Standards. In addition, the company
has satisfied the strict Performance Standard for Protective Coatings (PSPC) and, as a result, been able to shorten the shipbuilding period by saving cleaning time and energy.
