- HJSC’s first sustainable management report which contains ESG performances & vision and strategies
- Aims to enhance ESG management reliability by publishing the report annually

On October 20, 2023, HJ Shipbuilding & Construction (HJSC) announced that it published and posted the 2023 Sustainable Management Report on its website. It was the first time for the global shipbuilder to publish a sustainable management report. It reflected ISO26000 (corporate social responsibility) and global report initiative (GRI) standards which suggest global sustainable management guidelines. 

The Report contains the company profile, ESG strategies, Environmental (E), Social (S) and Corporate Governance (G) in order. Under the ESG management slogan of ‘Beyond Into Green, Beyond Into Great’, it stated the strategies and implementations for fulfilling environmental management and corporate social responsibility and improving corporate governance structure. 

At his publication remark, an official from the global company said, “HJSC is ready to take great strides forward and grow into a global leader.” He continued, “All our employees are committed to making our best efforts for sustainable values with a goal of evolving into a global environmental company.”

In October this year, HJSC earned ‘B+’ at ESG rating performed by the Korea Institute of Corporate Governance and Sustainability. Specifically, it obtained ‘B’ in Environmental and ‘B+’ in Social and Corporate Governance. With a one-notch upgrade from the previous year (‘B’), the multinational shipbuilder has proven its continued interest in ESG and dutiful fulfillment of corporate social responsibility. 

HJSC plans to keep publishing the sustainable management report every year and actively respond to its investors’ and concerned parties’ requests for the disclosure of ESG information and the requirements for disclosure of sustainability-related financial information. The global enterprise aims to keep making a contribution to the creation of sustainable values through transparent information disclosure and reinforcement of ESG management.
