HANJIN HEAVY INDUSTRIES

 - Single contractor for LNG Combined Cycle Power Plant Construction valued at 190 Billion KRW. 
 - Abundant experience in power plant design and construction evaluated as the impetus for getting the contract. 

HJ Shipbuilding and Construction(former Hanjin Heavy Industries) announced that it was selected as the successful bidder of Boryeong New Combined Cycle Power Plant No. 1 on the 4th of this month. 

This construction contract is a part of the project replacing Boryeong Power Plant No. 5, the coal-fired power plant, by the LNG Combined Cycle Power Plant. This construction is to build the 500㎿ Combined Cycle Power Plant No. 1 in Gojeong National Industrial Complex in Ocheon-myeon, Boryeong, Chungcheongnam-do, the vacant site after Boryeong Combined Cycle Power Plant No. 4 was moved to Incheon Combined Cycle Power Plant No. 3 site in 2013. The owner is Korea Midland Power Co., Ltd. and the contract price is 186.4 Billion KRW(including VAT). The construction will be completed in June 2026. 

HJ Shipbuilding and Construction has been building the New Sejong Combined Cycle Power Plant and Gangneung Anin Thermal Power Plant at present. Moreover, HJ Shipbuilding and Construction completed Yangsan Group Energy Facility Construction in Aug. HJ Shipbuilding and Construction has been continuing its power plant construction business in various areas including yangju, Byeolnae, Chuncheon and Seocheon up to now. It is evaluated that abundant construction performances and technologies of HJ Shipbuilding and Construction was the main impetus making it selected as the successful bidder in the comprehensive evaluation tendering system. 

While site quality/safety is recently emerging as the important issue, HJ Shipbuilding and Construction has been demonstrating its differentiated site operation management ability including its achievement having no serious disasters for 4 years, the very rare case as the big construction enterprise.
