HJSC(CEO: Hong Moon-Ki) verified its unrivalled competitiveness again in the special ship category by receiving the order of 4 new patrol killers of the Navy.

HJSC was selected as the first preferential bidder for the qualification examination in accordance with the bidding on the construction of four patrol killers from No. 1 to 4(Golden Eagle-B Batch-II) of the ROK Navy which Defense Acquisition Program Administration placed the order early this month. After examination, HJSC announced the execution of the ship construction contract of 212 Billion KRW with Defense Acquisition Program Administration on the 24th.

Once again, HJSC verified its unparalleled technology accumulated up to now in the striking vessels as accomplishing the distinguished deed in Batch-II project, the following business after the successful construction of 16 new patrol killers of the ROK Navy(Golden Eagle-B Batch-I)

The new patrol killer project is to build the 200-ton patrol killers which will replace the Chamsuri patrol killer of the ROK Navy leading the victory in the first and second battles of Yeonpyeong in 1999 and 2002.

The new patrol killer is recognized as the next generation striking vessel which significantly enhances the detection, defense and mission capability as well as firepower and mobility as compared to the existing Chamsuri patrol killer by applying powerful guided rocket, remote fire control system, general utility  countermeasures special purpose and Stealth construction method.

Recorded milestone in the history of patrol killer in Korea with ‘Haksaengho’, the first patrol killer in Korea built in 1972, HJSC built about 100 Chamsuri patrol killers, the main patrol killer of the ROK Navy. Since then, HJSC has been continuing its monumental achievement in the patrol killer industry in Korea as successfully building 8 guided missile medium patrol killers, the next generation patrol killers, and 20 next generation patrol killers.

HJSC aims to perfectly build the striking vessels including remarkable enhancement of systems and equipment for new Golden Eagle patrol killer taking over the name ‘Chamsuri’ to be immediately engaged in the missions with response forces including NLL defense and coastal defense.

An official in HJSC said that HJSC would take the important part in strengthening the naval power and defending national waters on the basis of its technologies accumulated as building small striking vessels and landing ships as well as the pride as the cradle of patrol killers made in Korea for about 50 years.
