- Safety and Health Advisory Committee Pledge Ceremony
On February 5, HJ Shipbuilding & Construction (HJSC) announced that its Construction Division held a Safety and Health Advisory Committee Pledge Ceremony at the Namyeong Office in Seoul.
The ceremony was attended by nine partner organizations, including the Korea Safety & Health Institute of Technology (KSHIT) and ST TOTAL SAFETY, both appointed as advisory members. The advisory committee is made up of specialists in various areas, including safety, health, construction machinery, risk assessment, safety and health plan review, and safety and health training. The committee members committed to working closely with HJSC to develop a more sophisticated and effective safety and health management system.
Following the pledge, the partners discussed specific measures to enhance the safety and health management system, including each organization's specialized support and collaboration plans. The global construction company will conduct semi-annual reviews to assess the progress of these initiatives in order to continuously improve and strengthen its safety and health management system.
HJSC has been implementing various safety and health management activities with the goal of becoming a leader in safety and health practices. Every month, the CEO and all executives visit their respective responsibility sites to conduct safety and health inspections at construction sites. Additionally, the South Korean constructor continues to run monthly campaigns to cultivate a safety and health-conscious culture at its construction sites.
Furthermore, the company organizes an annual safety and health seminar for the CEOs of its partner companies. In its commitment to fostering collaborative safety and health practices, HJSC honors exemplary partners with awards and supports them by providing requested safety and health materials and training resources.
As a result of these efforts, the multinational constructor was awarded the highest grade in the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, and Transport's “Public Construction Safety Management Level Evaluation” in December. Notably, HJSC was the only contractor to receive the top grade for two consecutive years, from 2023 to 2024.
CEO Kim Wan-seok stated, “With the launch of the Safety and Health Advisory Committee, we expect our practical safety and health management capabilities to be significantly enhanced.” He added, “Moving forward, we will continue to achieve our goal of zero accidents through close communication and collaboration with our partners.” |
