- HJSC Consortium Won the New Bundang Line Gwanggyo-Homaesil Double Track Railway Zone 1 Construction Project.

- New construction of about 4km-long double track railway at the contract price of 427 Billion KRW

HJSC(CEO Hong Moon-Ki for Construction Business) successfully won the first construction contract of the new year by being selected as the qualified working design contractor for the large construction project, New Bundang Line Gwanggyo-Homaesil Double Track Railway Zone 1 Construction Project. 

New Bundang Line Gwanggyo-Homaesil Double Track Railway Zone 1 Construction Project was ordered by Korea National Railway as a part of the project extending the southern area of New Bundang Line connecting Gwanggyo Central Station to Suwon Homaesil area. The Project will build total 4km-long double track railway from Gwanggyo Central Station and one underground subway station. When Gwanggyo-Homaesil zone starts service, it is expected that travel time from Suwon Homaesil area to Gangnam will be substantially reduced.

Total contract price is 427 Billion KRW(including VAT) and HJSC acts as the consortium manager with 45% stake. Working design will be produced this year and the construction will take 60 months after the commencement in 2024.

The Project is the turn-key base contract. HJSC was selected as the qualified working design contractor by a significant margin from competitors in design scores. It was known that HJSC won good scores in all design fields, especially much better scores in the design fields, railway alignments, movement convenience of residents and accessibility. In particular, it was said that HJSC could successfully win the contract by optimizing railway alignment with creative idea, so reducing service time, improving railway operation efficiency and proposing the approaches to solve complaints.

Changing its company name from Hanjin Heavy Industries in Jan. 2022, HJSC has a wide range of construction achievements in railway and subway construction industry like this project. HJSC participated in the construction of Wonju-Gangneung, Seongnam-Yeoju and Ulsan-Pohang zone as well as Gyeongbu High Speed Railway. At present, HJSC has been working for Janghang Line Improvement Project Phase 2, Chuncheon-Sokcho, Samseong-Dongtan and GTX-A construction projects. On the basis of a variety of construction achievements including airport, road, harbor and dredge, HJSC is widely known as the matchless public construction leader including 3rd ranking in 2020 and 5th ranking in 2021 in terms of contract prices.
