HJ Shipbuilding & Construction (HJSC) announced on June 24 that it has launched the HJ Integrated Construction Safety Control Center at its Namyeong headquarters in Seoul.

The new control center serves as a centralized system that collects and monitors real-time video feeds from construction sites across the country. With a multi-screen display setup, the center enables simultaneous monitoring of multiple sites and is integrated with HJSC’s internal safety and health management system, allowing for a comprehensive view of all safety-related data.

In particular, mobile CCTV and other surveillance equipment have been deployed in high-risk zones such as tower cranes, tunnels, and bridges, as well as areas prone to fire hazards or limited ventilation. These upgrades enable the head office to continuously monitor dangerous operations and respond immediately by halting work or dispatching support in case of emergencies.

In 2023, HJSC had already implemented its digital safety management platform ‘Safety e+,’ establishing a real-time digital safety monitoring system. Building on this, the multinational company launched the mobile version, “Safety M+,” earlier this month.

The mobile platform allows site personnel to conduct safety inspections, manage training logs, request work stoppages, and perform other safety-related tasks anytime and anywhere via smartphone. Enhanced with AI and robotic process automation (RPA) technology, the system can automatically generate and send documentation, significantly improving operational efficiency.

CEO Kim Wan-seok stated, “By building an integrated safety and health management system, we are doing everything we can to eliminate blind spots in site safety.” He added, “We will continue to strengthen our safety practices with the goal of achieving zero serious industrial accidents.”
